Yesterday Spiraled Out of Control is a piece which I used to represent the 24 hours of a day. I used one sheet of blank paper and thought of it as being one day. Realizing that time cannot be taken away from nor added to, I decided to keep the paper in its entirety; however, to demonstrate the hours experienced within my day I created 24 spirals among the paper. These spirals are all unique to one another just as every hour I experience, though the same amount of seconds and minutes, feels different and entails different events. Some hours feel short, though something significant happened so therefore it is a fat spiral. Other hours seem to spiral right into the next and some seem long though very insignificant. I tried to symbolize this throughout the one day sheet of paper whilst still trying to keep the paper in its entirety. I very much enjoyed the time spent during this process and therefore created a fun and beautiful spiral to represent that time.
